Big Girl Playing
Things are slowly falling into place. Nathan and I are getting a little more used to this parenting thing and Rory is, well, becoming more of a pro at pooping and eating. :) For the first time today, she actually enjoyed her swing. We sat the seat up a little bit and she actually hung out there for awhile. She also enjoyed her playmat quite a bit. (Thank you Uncle Jimmy! ) We're sure she didn't mean to, but while she was laying on her back playing, she kept hitting one of the toys. It's kind of amazing that she's only three weeks old and yet has changed so much already.
The Joys of Poo
It is amazing the things you get excited about as a parent. I have never in my life been so excited to see poop. Rory had been acting horribly fussy and in pain all day and had only used the bathroom once in the past two days. The pediatrician gave us a couple of things to try and TADA--poop! :) Such a relief. (I bet she's thinking the same thing!) I think I'll save this blog and make sure that Rory sees it when she gets older. I'm sure she'd love the fact that I'm talking to everyone about her poop.
Read more...They Grow So Fast!
Wow. Rory is all of a week and a half old and already she's changing. I can tell that she is bigger (she's such a piglet!) and she's starting to do all sorts of cool things. She's so much stronger than I would have expected a newborn to be. Whenever she's laying on her tummy, she'll lift her head and look around. I know she can't see much of anything yet, but it's really neat to watch. Sometimes it is hard to imagine that once, I was that small and that one day, she's going to be all grown up and have her own life and family. That will be the last time I talk about that for a long time, by the way... right now, I'll just make the assumption that she'll be little forever.
