The Tooth Fairy
If you don't know Rory, let me preface this by saying my daughter knows no fear (except the vacuum). She's a rough & tumble kind of girl. Since Rory figured out how to pull up on stuff about 2 months ago, she's been at it non-stop. One of those pull-ups didn't turn out so well, though. She pulled herself up on a laundry basket and lost her balance. When she fell, she twisted funny and landed, mouth open, on the laminate floor. It popped her tooth straight forward. While waiting in the ER, we got a call from the dentist saying that he could meet us at his office. Instead of waiting who knows how long in the ER, we went to the dentist. BUT somewhere between the ER and the dentist's office, the tooth came out--and disappeared. So now, my little Rory is one tooth down. The dentist said that when her molars come in, they will put in a fake tooth to keep the space for her adult tooth. So she'll probably never even notice the loss of the tooth.
The funny thing about the whole situation is that she cried for about 5 minutes. Me? I cried for like 2 days. As far as her other teeth go, we've got quite a mouthful. She still has one on the bottom, and now 4 on top. The 4 on the top decided to come in over the course of about a week and a half. That was NOT fun. Hopefully all of those stay where they belong.
Oh, and the tooth fairy... She is making a sizeable donation to the Rory McAnally college fund. :)
BA BA BA BA-rack & Clinton
So,the BA BA BA is Rory's two cents--on everything. I just thought I would go ahead and get that out there. Anyway, I sat down to write because it's been awhile and I felt obligated. Well, shockingly enough, I realized that I had a ton of stuff to write about! So I'm going to write about the month of April in little snippets. Themed ones, perhaps. No chronological order--just to be a pain.
April was the month of politicians in Greenville. On April 12, Bill Clinton came and spoke--at my school, of all places. So naturally, me being the social studies dork that I am, showed up early (with my entire department of social studies dorks) and got in line with the staff. Good move on my part, because I got super close. I even got to shake his had afterward. It was really incredible to see a former President of the United States speak. He talked about his presidency a little and then spoke on behalf of his wife. To be completely honest, though, I don't give two flips about Hillary. Can't stand her. Going to that rally was nothing but an opportunity to meet a president. Shameful, I know.
