Daffodils

I set out to take some pictures in the daffodil field today. I was thinking that since it was still chilly, there wouldn't be anyone else out there to get in our way. I was right, but the daffodils hadn't quite recovered from the cold and looked rather sad. I still took a few pictures to practice some lighting and composition. What I discovered is just how hard it is to take pictures of a toddler, without anyone around to help. I would get the lighting I wanted, but then she would decide to run off, or take her shoes off, or bend over just as I decided to take a shot. Or she would do something cute, but I wouldn't get the shot off in time. It was all very challenging, especially since I am really just learning how to use this camera. (It's gonna take me awhile.) I'm going to give the daffodils another shot in a few days, but this time, I'm making Nathan come so that someone can try to keep the kid's attention so I can just focus on taking pictures. Here is my favorite from today.

After Lauren's mention of picnik, I decided to play around with it some. It does some nice editing without having to deal with photoshop for something simple. I thought this one was cute.

Random Things

In no particular order:

1) For the first time in 2 pregnancies, I had a craving I could not deny. So, I bundled my pregnant self up, (I looked quite comical in my winter coat. I got it to zip, but it very obviously didn't fit. I didn't care. It's cold outside.) wiped the snow off the car, and drove to Lowe's foods to get yogurt. That's right, yogurt. Nothing yummy or unhealthy, I just really wanted yogurt. And it was good. Now, before you start thinking "isn't it the husband's job to run the food errands?" I stuck him on bath duty so I could go. I didn't mind. Rory gets cranky at bath time when she is over-tired. We could have skipped the bath altogether, but she got spaghetti in her hair during dinner. She's so classy. :)

b) We had a showing on the condo tonight. I'm really hoping that it went well. Nathan is putting over 1,000 miles a week on his car. He doesn't mind the drive so much. His car, on the other hand, informed me that the commute is getting old.

+ I'm on a quest to get a video of Rory saying her ABC's. And by ABC's I mean: A, B, C, deh, eadf, fa, de, la...labladaba (what? you can't tell that is LMNOP?). It is too cute. Every time I pull out the camera though, she ducks her head and whispers so I don't have anything to show... yet. I'm just hoping I get her on 'film' before she gets good at it. The make-believe letters are so endearing.

Hope everyone has a good night. Bundle up!
