The Big Girl Bed(ish)

As we get closer to the arrival of little McAnally #2, we decided time that it was time to move Rory to a big girl bed. Since we had the option of converting the crib to a toddler bed, we figured that we would use that as a transition. We'll eventually move her into our extra twin bed and put the baby in the crib. Sunday afternoon, while Rory and I drove back from EC, daddy took the crib railing down and converted her crib to her bid girl bed.

She did very well Sunday night. She played in bed for a little while after we shut the lights out, but she stayed in there all night and only woke up about 30 minutes early Monday morning. Last night, we let her crawl into her bed by herself and she curled right up. She talked to herself for a little bit and went to sleep. This morning, I was really expecting her to wake up early, but instead, after I waited as long as I could before we had to get ready to leave, I found this:

She was passed out. That girl was NOT ready to get up yet. I opened the blinds and turned on the light. She responded by scrunching up even more and pretending I wasn't there.

Finally, she gave up and woke up. She wasn't happy about it, though.

I have been amazed at how well she has been taking the transition. I keep waiting for the screaming and the fits and her refusing to stay in bed. I'm sure it's coming one of these nights... and I'll be sure to let you know all about it. :)
