The Tooth Fairy

If you don't know Rory, let me preface this by saying my daughter knows no fear (except the vacuum). She's a rough & tumble kind of girl. Since Rory figured out how to pull up on stuff about 2 months ago, she's been at it non-stop. One of those pull-ups didn't turn out so well, though. She pulled herself up on a laundry basket and lost her balance. When she fell, she twisted funny and landed, mouth open, on the laminate floor. It popped her tooth straight forward. While waiting in the ER, we got a call from the dentist saying that he could meet us at his office. Instead of waiting who knows how long in the ER, we went to the dentist. BUT somewhere between the ER and the dentist's office, the tooth came out--and disappeared. So now, my little Rory is one tooth down. The dentist said that when her molars come in, they will put in a fake tooth to keep the space for her adult tooth. So she'll probably never even notice the loss of the tooth.

The funny thing about the whole situation is that she cried for about 5 minutes. Me? I cried for like 2 days. As far as her other teeth go, we've got quite a mouthful. She still has one on the bottom, and now 4 on top. The 4 on the top decided to come in over the course of about a week and a half. That was NOT fun. Hopefully all of those stay where they belong.

Oh, and the tooth fairy... She is making a sizeable donation to the Rory McAnally college fund. :)

that stinks about the tooth, but it sounds like rory took it in stride. tough little girl!

no clue where i'm working yet. i've got applications out in many different place, and essentially i have until the end of july to figure it out before it really affects us. however, if i could start something before that, i'm also okay with it. it's a little nerve-wracking, but i'm sure i can find something by the end of the summer.
