Now what do I do?
Rory had her one year check up with her cardiologist this morning. (For a brief explanation of last year's appointment, click here.) I took the day off not knowing what to expect, since last year there were EKG's and ultrasounds, etc. We went in, a med student came and listened to her heart for a few minutes and said he didn't hear anything. (As in the murmur, he heard her heart just fine, otherwise he may need to pick a new specialty.) The doctor came in gave her heart a listen and said that the murmur was gone and the hole was closed. YAY! This is the news we were hoping for! Now, if you are wondering why I am so excited about this diagnosis without all the EKG's and the ultrasounds confirming it, let me explain. Last year, this guy listened to her heart through the stethoscope and told us the type, location, and size of that defect. Just by listening. He did an ultrasound just to confirm what he heard and he was right. So if he didn't hear anything of concern this time, that is good enough for me. :)
After Rory's appointment, I dropped her off at daycare so I could get some work done around the house. I've gotten so used to taking care of cleaning and other chores with her around, it seems so unchallenging without her here. I mean, folding laundry isn't exactly my idea of a thrill, but without the risk of watching an entire stack of folded clothes go flying across the living room, it's just downright uninteresting. I think that I'll do some chores, but then kick my feet up and take a day to relax. It's so odd to have time alone that I'm kind of at a loss--not really sure what to do with myself. Funny how that happens...
Yay for the cardiologist vist!
I definitely know the feeling of the unchallenging household chores, but doesn't that time just FLY by. I had to stay home and wait for the plumber to fix our water on Tuesday and I definitely didn't get ANYTHING done because I had so much free time. CRAZY!
Although the most unusual time alone time for us is going out to eat without the 2 boys, that is STRANGELY quiet and unbelievably relaxing.
