Nostalgia

Each week, I watch Lauren post a picture to I heart Faces. I always think about posting, but then chicken out. This week, I'm hanging up my feathers and cluckiness and joining in. It helps that I just took a picture the other week that fits the theme so well for me.

A couple of weekends ago, I visited my parents. There has been an old Coke advertisement painted on the side of one of the buildings downtown for ages. It was neglected for awhile, but a few years back, it was brought back to life with a fresh coat of paint. At any rate, I love this for so many reasons. It looks so wonderfully old-fashioned, in the middle of an old downtown with beautiful buildings. It reminds me of the old soda shop around the corner that had THE BEST vanilla cokes known to man. (Seriously, not kidding.) It reminds me of my job at the bookstore two doors down from that soda shop. It reminds me of getting glass bottles of coke and sitting outside on a hot summer day with my dad. And best of all, it reminds me that I get to share all of that with my little girl as she gets older.

yay! wonderful first entry--i love signs like that, too. painted brick walls are my weakness--there's one in downtown greenville, too, that i've been wanting to use.
